iExpression is coming to the Mac

And it's bringing along an upgrade to the iOS client with it. Keep up with the latest progress on the blog. With iCloud syncing (between Macs and iOS devices too), rich text editing, smart channels (and we mean really smart), and a completely re-written synchronisation engine and UI, iExpression is ready for whatever you can throw at it. We will be releasing iExpression for Mac first, with an update to its iOS sibling shortly afterwards.

iExpression 1.4 for ExpressionEngine now available with advanced editor, extended server file manage

Thursday, October 28, 2010

We are delighted to announce the availability of iExpression 1.4 (it is currently rolling out across the different App Stores, it may take 24 hours to reach yours).

We have focused on improving the entry editing and file management experience in version 1.4, as well as adding Dropbox integration. As an illustration of the extent of the enhancements we were able to deliver all of the changes to the web-site ready for the release (updating product pages, as well as user-guide and module files/pages) entirely with iExpression whilst in a fast-food restaurant on an iPhone! In summary the key features are

  • Advanced file management: Upload files from shared documents directory, photographs and videos from your phone, your Dropbox account, and e-mails or other applications
  • Embedded video and audio player can stream directly from your server for testing your video/audio uploads
  • Advanced editing mode enables fast HTML/Entry (configurable) editing including Quick Field Preview mode (allows you to check your formatting before submitting the entire entry to your site)

For more information you can find some videos released during development in this blog entry. You can also download the user-guide in ePub or PDF format from here.

iExpression 1.3.1 Released

Saturday, September 25, 2010

We’ve just been caught a little off guard by a very speedy Apple! iExpression 1.3.1 is a minor release which includes a fix to enable users who cannot use auto-detect as a result of their ExpressionEngine configuration. There is also a small revision of the module which simple displays the precise URL to enter if you wish to avoid using auto-detection. We will be releasing a larger revision to the module to address an issue found with relationship fields in EE 1.6 where the relationship is to a gallery module entry.
