Red When
Excited!

We’ve just hit feature complete for iExpression 1.4. We think you are going to love it. Interestingly with a couple of point releases for 1.3 we actually have nothing in the burn-down list (we are already at no-known defects). Unless that changes, we are going to ship unless we ourselves can shake anything out with manual testing (that is, we are going to use it for our various sites and unless something pops up, we’re already done).

For those of you who haven’t been tracking things, here are the main features for 1.4.

  1. Advanced file management including Dropbox integration, open attachments in e-mails/other apps and upload, video and sound file previews, and shared document support
  2.
  3. Advanced editing with a (configurable if you wish) dedicated and intelligent tool-bar.
  4.
  5. A couple of fun featurettes.

We’ve really been able to benefit from the ground work done in 1.3 and that experience has convinced us of other investments we’d been considering, but more about that in a subsequent blog.

For now, 1.4 just needs to pass our review process before hitting Apple’s. We’re keen to get this out ahead of a 4.2 rush so we won’t be delaying any longer than we have to.
